In 2380 it encountered an entity that fed on its power systems until it had absorbed the entire ship. Dayton and her crew were rescued by a team from the U.S.S. Cerritos, who beamed them away before the entity merged with the Rubidoux. The model is part of Master Replicas Starship Library – a new range of 4 to 5-inch long models – and is accompanied by a 48-page book. It is one of several limited-edition California-class ships that Master Replicas are producing. Its red markings show that it belongs to the command division. All the California-class variants come with an in-depth book that includes a profile of the U.S.S. Cerritos, with annotated plan views and information about the creation of Star Trek: Lower Decks, based on an exclusive interview with the show’s creator Mike McMahan.
